As the merry month of May winds down I catch my breath.........

I have to say May was pretty full-on! But in a good way.

Exhibiting: I put up a large Solo Show 'Moving Pictures' (on until 20th June, People's Theatre Gallery, Newcastle). This features the first stage in my collaboration with the fabulously talented Eliot Smith, Dancer/Choreographer. I totally LOVED every minute of this work and I think this comes across as people are saying it's my best work yet, which is a wonderful thing for an artist to hear! Plus, that has to count as THE BEST Preview ever! The Eliot Smith Company performed in front of the work, a magical experience.

I will be taking some friends to view the exhibition Thurs 2nd June 2pm, consider this an open invitation.

People's Theatre, Stephenson Rd, Newcastle NE6 5QF 0191 2655020

Teaching: I held a new workshop in the studio, a Full Day Mixed-media Life Painting session. This was a new format: drawing from the model in the morning then developing into mixed-media in the afternoon. This went SO well - great atmosphere, fabulous work plus an amazing lunch! I shall be holding another in July. See pics and info:

Class Trip: My Monday Group organised a trip to Edinburgh. A lovely awayday to see some great  Art (and cafes). Highlight was definitely the Joan Eardly paintings in the 'Scottish Women Painters' exhibition. I was already a fan but had not seen in the flesh. Awesome. I don't usually use that word.

Drink & Draw: May's theme was Song and Dance (pretty apt really). It was a very jolly evening with  a few of the hard-core regulars plus some lovely newcomers. We had more drawing games - hilarious! Next month will be the last till Autumn.
